Full-time Cattle/Pig Manager

He/she:

• Must understand and believe in our mission of raising food that is healthy for the land, animals, customers, and community
• Must be an awesome person - friendly, kind, has 100% integrity (corny jokes are a bonus!)
• Must be enthusiastic about doing good work, owning his/her domain, making improvements, hustling, and leading others to do the same
• Must be excited about cows and pigs, believing they are some of the coolest animals (because they are)
• Must be very physically fit and able to lift 75 lbs, use a chainsaw, operate trucks, trailers, tractors
• Must be tidy, detail-oriented, and capable with a spreadsheet
• Must be able to professionally communicate with our team, landowners, slaughterhouse, breeders, and other partners
• Must have a valid driver’s license

Specific Duties:

• Leading pasture rotation work for all pigs (about 200/year) and cattle (about 150 head/year)
• Communicating with landowners, slaughterhouses, breeders, suppliers, etc.
• Fence and water maintenance and installation, brush clearing, etc.
• Tracking all data: feed, pasture rotations, ages, weights, etc.
• Trailering cattle
• Training support staff
